the door. I quickly took a picture before it retreated
into the dark under a nearby bush.
It is the Marbled Newt and the glossy green, black and orange colors are simply striking in their contrast and brilliancy - probably right up Jane Thornley's inspiration alley! Also see these English information on the newt, in French called Triton marbré.
