For a Friend Across the Ocean

No other words needed - this is for a Friend living in Taos, Faith Welsh.
She is a caring human being, a most creative artist of many talents, a cat person, a designer, spinner, knitter, painter, appreciates nature and glorious landscapes, mountains, rocks and trees and plants, the skies and seas, far-away places, foreign cultures - with her posts and her work she has helped me to overcome my homesickness for our former home in the country. This friendship circle is for her. I made it in October 2014.

Hopefully, I will one day be able to meet my friend in person:

A Lace Collar made of Threads, Fine Yarns and Beads

Not that this project had lingered unfinished - it's been patiently awaiting its turn since May 2007 until there were photographs available doing justice to its looks! A fine Noro Daria Multi metamorphosed into a lacy collar cum necklace, with a kumihimo-braided closure string, with macramee knots at the end.

The pattern is simply a knitted decorative edge.

Refound Love for Lucet

For some time now I've been admiring the airy Lucet necklaces made by Marie-Christine. A friend of hers custom-made this wonderful wooden Lucet for me and I took to the craft as if I had never been away - never in this case being exactly 65 years. The joy is still the same although the hands may perhaps be a bit slower. I had made a friend in New York through Ravelry and sent the necklace to her, a very talented freeformer - her Walk Through the Woods (A famous play with Sir Alec Guinness, on stage in London in the eighties) resulted in a lovely project on Ravelry called Path through the Forest. Here's my re-first Lucet necklace.

No Sheep KAL / New Knit on the Klock / Noro Collar

My first post in my new blog. I am participating in the No Sheep Knitalong - my present project is knitting an old-fashioned type of a collar, made of Noro Daria Multi yarn. It can be worn with the closure either at the front or in the back (then it will look a bit more like a necklace). The Noro yarn gives it enough stiffness to retain its shape.
